Scope & Content
"Remnants of Buckeye Cemetery, southeast of Madison. Buckeye, the ancestor of Winters, was founded about 1855. It was located near the present site of the Buckeye School. In 1875 the whole town was moved to Winters. This little cemetery, located on the top of a small hill, contains the graves of a number of pioneers of the Buckeye region." Isolated gravestones and wrought-iron fencing stand askew against a background of low grassy hills, wooded foothills in the deep background.
