By-product from Spreckels Sugar Company factory for feeding livestock. Swanston and Company stock feeding plant, one mile south of Spreckels Factory. The yard had 35 corrals, each with troughs to feed 250 cattle. Narrow gauge railroad transports beet pulp to plant, mixed with hay. Photo collection number: C16-027.
