Scope & ContentThe Town and Country Club of Woodland started in 1914. It did include members from outside of the City. The club was a member of the "General Federation of Women's Clubs" and the "California Federation of Clubs". It was mainly a social club but did provide some services. During the 1990's a noticeable decline in members and attendance began and the decision to disband was made. May 2001 was the last official meeting of the club. This collection contains club records including membership books, scrapbooks, meeting programs, and minutes of various sections and boards. Also ribbons and trophies. Includes club history, laws, and rules; membership lists, rules for use of the Women's Clubhouse; budgets; and newspaper clippings of club events. Also contains Woodland Shakespeare Club documents that overlap with Town and Country Club regarding the bequest of a building owned by Ann Blake-Ryder, a founding member of Shakespeare Club.
