Correspondence of four letters between Carol Rose and Edwin Proctor. Carol Rose inquired about the Minis/Lambert home at 315, 315 ½, 317 2nd Street which was Elamae Lambert's (Proctor) home as a child and Edwin Proctors home until 1923 when they moved to their new house at 1st and Cross Streets (current address is 540 Cross Street). Carol Rose was a member of the Shakespeare Club and Republican Womens Group who knew and admired Elamae Proctor. Carol and Ellis Rose owned 315 2nd Street in 1975, during the time of her correspondence with Edwin Proctor. If facing the Daily Democrat building, the building in question is on the right and adjacent to the alley. Their correspondence provides Elamae Lambert family history (great-grandparents William and Almira Minis; grandmother Mollie Minis Lambert) and history of the buildings inhabitants, businesses, and tenants. Edwin Proctor was born at the house in 1915. Edwin provides details of the landscape of this area during his childhood in his letter to Mrs. Rose.
