This is a collection of publications from the California Wilderness Coalition (Davis, CA) from 1976-1985. The Wilderness Record was the printed newsletter of the California Wilderness Coalition (now known as CalWild), published from the inception of the Coalition in 1976 until 2011, when it was replaced by email newsletters. Its purpose was to inform concerned citizens all over the state about threats to wildlands and opportunities to preserve them. It encouraged the reader to speak out for wilderness. In the process, it became a chronicle of a crucial 35 years of the wilderness movement in California.
