Shipment is being delivered to the Plumbing and Well-boring Shop of Jesse Gray Rowe Jr. and his brother-in-law Levi Wire. Located on southeast corner of 3rd and G Streets, and formerly owned by B. Hughes. Rowe & Sons moved in 1931 (property purchased by Davis Lumber Co.) and they were still in the plumbing and sheet metal business in 1968. This company also drilled the first wells on the University Farm in 1907. The location, where Preston's Furniture was in 1968, was originally Joe Gallagher's blacksmith shop. Collection of Gray and Helen Rowe. Courtesy of Davis Historical & Landmarks Commission.
