Hat. Brown silk taffeta bonnet, era 1860-1870's. 4 1/2" crown at back, 7 1/2" depth, including brim. Ribbon ties 18" long. Silk taffeta over beige buckram form. Nine row of wires covered with taffeta, 1/2" to 3/4" apart, around the body of bonnet. 3 !/4" brim stabilized with vertical and horizontal wires. Taffeta ruffle, 3" wide & approx 18" long, across back of bonnet.
