Wil Lotter (1925-2019) was raised in Alameda. He married Jane Baker Lotter (1925-2016) in 1947 and they moved to Davis in 1952, where Wil joined the UC Davis Physical Education Department and worked as a football, baseball, tennis, and soccer coach. They were founding members of the Unitarian Church of Davis and the Davis Religious Community for Sanctuary.
