"The Hudson Bay Company maintained two trappers' camps in Central California with headquarters at Yerba Buena. One was the present French Camp in San Joaquin County, and one a mile east of the site of Cacheville on the north bank of Cache Creek at a turn in a grove of oaks. The camp was maintained from 1833 to 1842." Funding for the digitization of this resource has been provided by the Friends of the Yolo County Archives.
