This collection contains photocopied documents, newspaper articles, magazines, programs, ephemera, photographs, and meeting minutes, mostly pertaining to the history of the Russian community and Orthodox Church in Bryte, West Sacramento history, the West Sacramento Historical Society, and the Yolo County Women's Month Committee. Louisa Vessell is a descendent of Russian immigrants who helped found the Holy Myrrhbearing Women Orthodox Church in Bryte. She was a member of the West Sacramento Historical Society and the Yolo County Women's History Month (YCWHM) Committee. She also authored press releases for the YCWHM Committee and the campaigns of Greg Potnik and Wes Beers.
