Richard Rominger (1927-2020) was born in Woodland and studied plant science at UC Davis after serving in World War II. He married Evelyne Rowe Rominger (b. 1929) in 1951. Rich was director and president of the Yolo County Farm Bureau, founder and president of the Yolo Land Trust, director of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, and deputy secretary of the UDSA under Bill Clinton. Evelyne attended UC Davis and UC Berkeley and has been involved with the Commission of the Californias, the Yolo County Mental Health Association, and the California Conference for Comprehensive Health Planning, the Lincoln Council, and Nelson Art Friends.
