EtendueThe album contains newspaper clippings, correspondence, notes, photographs, cards, stationery, receipts, and ephemera from and about the Borach family of Yolo and the Borach Store, as well as clippings and other documents on historic buildings in Woodland and Yolo and general Yolo County history. Bernard Borach (1850-1940) immigrated from France in 1870 and opened the Borach Store in Yolo in 1890. He married Rosalie Schwab (1864-1957) in 1893 and they had three children: Lucien, Leon, and Jeannette Borach. Lucien and Leon ran the Borach Store until 1963. In addition to the store, the Borach family was involved with the Freemasons and Yolo Post No. 77 of the American Legion. Leon Borach married Almira Taylor of Woodland in 1932. Materials in the scrapbook also concern members of the Taylor family, including Almira Taylor Borach's siblings Elmer, Clay, and Francis. Almira Taylor Borach was also related to the Jacobs family of Yolo through her mother.
