The collection includes photographs, certificates, newspaper clippings, yearbooks, and property and financial records from the Leonard Knight family of Yolo. Leonard Knight Jr. was born in 1865 in Yolo (also then known as Cacheville) to Leonard Knight Sr. and Mary Barber. Knight operated a hotel and general store in Yolo. Knight was also a successful farmer on the land he inherited from his father. Leonard Knight Jr. married Mary Emogene Woodard on November 6, 1889 in Yolo. The Knight children were Inez Laurel Knight, Myrtle Estelle, Clarence Wellington Knight, Delbert R. Knight, Ivy Dorothea Knight, Lauretta Elva Knight, Edith May Knight and Leonard Emmerson Knight. Leonard Knight Jr. died in 1916 in Yolo at the age of 50, and was buried In Mary’s Cemetery.
