EtendueThe collection includes photos, deeds and mortgages, and legal records related to the Charles D. and Caroline (Schneegas) Simpson family of Woodland. Charles D. Simpson (1849-1928) was born in Nova Scotia and immigrated to the United States in 1871, first settling and Oregon. He moved to Woodland in 1887, where he worked as a grain broker. He married his second wife Caroline Schneegas (1869-1947) in 1891. Caroline Schneegas was the daughter of Henry and Louisa Schneegas and was raised in West Grafton. They had four sons: twins Norman (1892-1988) and Charles (1892-1925), William (1895-1978), and Harold (1900-1991). They first lived at 543 1st Street and later moved to 640 College Street.
