Black and white bust length photograph of dark-haired man with large moustache. Marked "Garroute, C. H., District Attorney 1878-1882" in the lower left corner. After serving as District Attorney, C. H. Garroute was elected the second justice of the Yolo County Superior Court in 1884. Toward the end of his six-year term, in 1890, he was elected Associate Justice of the California State Supreme Court.
