The engine was derailed between Sacramento and Davis during the Pullman strike of 1894. The original photograph is in the possession of Mrs. John W. Rowe of Davis. It was loaned to Joann Larkey who had a copy made for use in the book "Yolo County, Land of Changing Patterns" p. 55. The present photograph was printed from the negative in possession of Joann Larkey in 1995 for use in publicizing a meeting of the Yolo County Historical Society at which Jim Henley described the history of the Pullman Strike and the derailment.
