Ray Coppock (1922-2016) was raised in Inyokern and married Mary Ellen Symmonds (1926-2024) in 1949. They moved to Davis in 1956, where Ray worked for UC Agricultural Extension and Ellen taught in elementary schools. Ray was one of the founders of the folk music group Putah Creek Crawdads.
