Thelma Dietrich was the daughter of Charles J. Dietrich and Charlotte Becker Dietrich, both the children of German immigrant families. Charlotte Becker's parents, Charles Becker and Mathilda Page (Potzsche) Becker, owned a ranch in Solano County south of Davis. Charles J. Dietrich's parents, Charles Dietrich and Caroline Siphle, operated the Ebner Hotel in Sacramento and Hunt Hotel in Davis, and owned a farm northeast of Davis. Also included in the collection are some materials from Thelma Dietrich's aunt, Metha Becker Henle, and Thelma Dietrich's cousins, Carolyne and Lestenna Hamel (daughters of George Hamel and Lena Dietrich Hamel).
