Woodland Main Street, looking east from near Cleveland Street. An unpaved street with water puddles to the side runs between two rows of rough wooden commercial buildings. Sign on a building at the right reads "Pacific House." A building with an ornate painted balcony stands just beyond the sign, and beyond that stands a building with a prominent tower. "Main Street, Woodland, 1875(?). This old photograph, looking east from Cleveland Street, has appeared in various publications and is generally stated to date from 1870. This cannot be so, as the Byrns Hotel tower can be clearly seen. Note the Pacific House, a portion of which is now on Court Street."
