Butter dish made of white, heavy porcelain. Bowl has wide lip with indentation to hold lid. Wide gold band around lip, sides curve in and then flare out to form base on which are 2 thin gold bands. White insert has large , .75", circular hole in center surrounded by 8 much smaller circular holes. Dome lid has irregularly shaped handle with gold bands and 4 gold ovals per side. Around the handle on the lid, in very low relief, is a wheat design painted in gold. Around the lid's edge is a wide gold band.
