Throughout the 18th century England, France and Germany were striving to produce ware equal to porcelains of China. Limoge is a painted enamel on porcelain or metal, names after the French city where it became popular with the rapid growth of the pottery industry in the 1800's. History: The dinner set was owned by Jennie Morris and her husband. Both were natives of Yolo County. The couple moved to San Francisco in 1904. The set was said to have survived the earthquake of 1906.
