Farish, Ella Mae

Quilt. Homemade about 50 years ago as of 1975, Original owner Farish, Ella Mae Collins, mother-in-law of donor. Real Wedding Ring Pattern, probably made in the 1940's with fabric from the 30's and the 40's. Never washed. Excellent example of this kind of quilt. Back is unbleached muslin quilted in diamond pattern in block centers, following front design over rest. Front: 12 overlaping rings with 2 pink, 2 green squares at point of overlap. "Rings" are constructed of trapzoid patches, multi-coloredd gingham/muslin arranged in circle of 6 multi-colored patches. Then 4 (2 green, 2 pink) squares and continuing around part circle, 4 squares, etc. until circle is completed. All edges follow design bound with 1 cm green bias. Interlining appearss very thin, possibly loose cotton. No solid feel to it. As of 2/2/2008 these 2 quilts have not been found.
