Powder Horn from about 1840 or 1850. Diameter at top is 2 1/2", diameter at bottom is 1/4". A carved wooden piece is 7 3/4" from the top of the horn has a hole in it to let powder through. Attached by wire 3" from the bottom and at the top piece is a 30 1/2" leather strap. The horn is bone and grey in color and is topped by a round wooden piece affixed by 10 nails. The wire holding the strap at the bottom is copper at the top. There is a piece of string binding the strap together at the top of the horn. Animal horns, water jug, canteen, mortars.
