Walnut with burled walnut panels (Cartouche, tops of side rails, drop on seat). The top rail has a cartouche in the center and ears which are curved on the top, pointed on the sides. The burled panels which come up the side rails and curve out to form the back legs. The front apron has slight outward curve towards the center and the burled panel which decorates it is a very elongated rectangle. The very plain drop on the apron has very simplified incised decoration. The front legs are plainly turned and have brass casters. Tourquoise velvet upholstery. History: Donor calls this Eastlake and dates it 1891. It has the same upholstery as the settee (YO1-220-01) and their style is very similar, but they are not actually part of the same set; the decorative details are not identical.
