Horn, Powder: 9 1/2" bovine horn. Gray shading to ivory. Wooden plub, varnished, in large end, held by small brass nails, 1/4" apart, all the way around. Pointed end sawed off & fitted with brass spout with spring-loaded charge-measuring lever. Leather collar below spout (probably part of original carrying strap). Brass "eye" inserted in center of wood plug. 12" long light carrying rope, with loop, in eye. Ammunition for Muzzle-Loading Rifle.
