Parasol. Black silk taffeta topped with black dotted net cover edged with black scalloped lace. 13" radius when open. Black lacquered when wooden handle with ball-shaped ferrule on top and larger ball to hand. Handle length 26 1/2" total. Breaks in center and folds over with blade hinge. Brass slide holds break together when parasol is in use. History: Belonged to Mrs. Canning, mother of Aletha Epperson, the mother of Louann Boswell.
